Accessories, components and consumables

Not everything you look after deserves a full asset record. Tagaris tracks three kinds of stock alongside the register, each with quantities, a movement history and low-stock alerts.

The three types

• Accessories are issued to people and come back: keyboards, mice, headsets, docks. Check one out to a person and check it back in when it is returned; the accessory page shows who currently holds what.
• Components are installed into assets: RAM, SSDs, spare screens. Install a component into an asset and the remaining stock decrements; the asset's page shows what has been fitted.
• Consumables are used up: toner, cables, batteries. Issue them to a person and the stock simply goes down.

Each type has its own list page with search, and each item records every movement, so you can answer who took the last dock and when.

Low-stock alerts

Give any item a minimum quantity and it appears with a warning when stock falls below it. The daily alerts digest includes everything below its minimum, so reordering does not depend on someone checking a page.
